Sister Faustina's Final Profession
Bishop Cote's homily at the Mass of Profession centered on the gift of the vocation to the Consecrated Life, and the dying to self that marks a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Sister's response to His invitation to closer union with Him through the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience bears witness to the eternal promise that awaits those who leave all to follow Jesus, said Bishop Cote.
Earlier in the day, Sister Anna Joseph Duong renewed her temporary vows and Sister Josephine Managure made her First (temporary) Profession of vows.
Sister Faustina returns to her assignment in Wisconsin after having spent two months at the Novitiate in intense preparation for her Perpetual Profession.
On Sunday, February 22, 2009, The Sisters of Charity of Our Lady, Mother of the Church, celebrated the Perpetual Profession of Vows of Sister Mary Faustina Nath. Bishop Michael Cote was the principal celebrant, and Rev. Kevin Butler, Diocese of Rockford, Illinois, concelebrated. Rev. Kevin Reilly, secretary to Bishop Cote, was Master of Ceremonies.
Relatives and friends of Sister Faustina joined the Sisters in the Motherhouse Chapel in Baltic for the ceremony. Sister entered the Sisters of Charity in 2001 from her home parish of St. Margaret Mary in Algonquin, IL. During the past eight years, Sister studied at Holy Family Novitiate in Baltic, at Holy Apostles College and at Three Rivers College, and is currently Dietary Manager at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home in Janesville, Wisconsin.
