Our title, Sisters of Charity of Our Lady Mother of The Church, was given to our new American Congregation in 1970. The formal declaration of Mary as Mother of the Church was pronounced by Pope Paul VI on November 21, 1964 at the end of the Second Vatican Council.


       The mosaic of Our Lady Mother of The Church, as shown above, can be found on a building in St. Peter's Square where it can be seen both by the faithful and by the Holy Father as he delivers his Angelus Message. The feast of Mary Mother of The Church is celebrated on the Monday after Pentecost Sunday.
       As Sisters of Charity of Our Lady Mother of The Church, we recognize that the virtues of charity and fidelity must be especially exercised by the members of the Congregation under the patronage of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Vincent De Paul (pictured below). The motto chosen for our Congregation entrusts us to Mary's maternal care. We raise our eyes to her who shines forth as the most authentic and the most perfect way to imitate her Son. We ask her to assist us in our quest for holiness, and we acknowledge our dependence upon her as we walk the narrow path that leads directly...
