Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.  I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”  Psalm 16

In these difficult and unprecedented times, know that the Sisters are praying for you and your loved ones, for your health and safety. We are deeply grateful that we are able to continue sharing God’s amazing gift of new life with all the children we teach, the elderly we care for, the hungry we feed and the homeless we shelter. You help make the love of Our Risen Lord real and present in their lives.

Although this Spring may seem to be full of fear and worry as we live under the shadow of the coronavirus, we hold in our hearts the promise which the Resurrection of Jesus brings to us. May He be our Light in the darkness, and peace amid the confusion of these days. He is our Hope. These are uncharted waters in which we find ourselves. The facts cannot be overlooked: we don’t know what to expect from one day to the next.

Assistance with Food

In response to the ever growing needs of the residents of Sprague, Connecticut, while still observing physical distancing guidelines as set forth by our government, we have significantly increased the hours in which you are able to pick up food from 1 hour a week to 10 hours a week.  Appointments are scheduled 15 minutes apart for the safety of our friends picking up food. To schedule an appointment and for further details, please call (860) 822-8241. If you are a Connecticut resident (not of Sprague), and are in need of food assistance, please select the link under “Additional Resources” for the New London County’s Community Meal Sites and Emergency Food Pantries.

Development Office

Our Development Office will remain open in a limited capacity. We ask for your patience in any delays that you may experience as we do our best to respond to the needs of all our benefactors. While we will still be accepting phone calls, there will be times that we may not be able to answer all of the calls coming in. In those instances, please leave us a message and we will return your call as soon as we are able.

It has also come to our attention that some of the mail through the United States Postal Service (USPS) has been delayed. We are sorry for any hardship this has caused you. Unfortunately, we are not able to control the specific timing of delivery. In normal circumstances, the USPS recommends contacting customer service only after 14 days of a “media mail” package not being received. If you need the tracking number for your package or have any questions, please call our Development Office at 860-822-6323.

We are here for you

Last, but certainly not least, you. Our most important mission is to pray. And an important part of our prayer is praying for your needs and those of your loved ones. It is a sacred trust the Sisters hold dear. If you have personal needs and petitions that you would like the Sisters to pray for, please send them to us. You can submit your prayer requests by selecting the link Here.

May God’s grace replace every anxious thought that may arise in your heart and may you look to Our Lord and our Blessed Mother for help, strength and hope. You are not alone. The Sisters of Charity are with you in prayer. May you know an abundance of God’s Grace and Mercy!
